Frequently Asked Questions

Q: 1. Is the spot/UV raised?
A: No, the spot/UV is not raised.

Q: 2. How long will it take for me to receive my cards?
A: You will receive your order in approximately five or six business days. Our production department is closed on weekends. We are shipping in Florida only.

Q: 3. Do I have to pay shipping for my cards?
A: No, our Silk Business Cards have free shipping throughout the USA, except Hawaii and Alaska. For shipping costs to Puerto Rico please contact us.

Q: 4. How thick are Silk Business Cards?
A: 16pt thick (equal to .016 of an inch). Each point (pt) is equal to .001 of an inch, to give you a frame of reference.

Q: 5. What size are the business cards?
A: Standard business cards are 3.5" (8.8cm) x 2" (5.0cm).

Q: 6. I have only one idea of the design, can you create the artwork for me?
A: If you have an idea for your design, but do not have a digital file prepared by a graphic designer ready to print, you will need to create the artwork. We offer design services, please contact us for a quote.

Q: 7. if I have my own design. How do I set up my artwork files? What are your file specifications?
A: To ensure the printing quality of your cards, your design must meet certain technical specifications required by our production department. When creating a Spot UV job, you must include a Spot UV template file along with the regular print file. The Spot UV template file is used to show where the UV coating needs to be applied and it must match 100% with the artwork.


Please use only C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=100 rich black color to indicate where you would like the UV. Do not use shadows, glows or grayscale images. White will indicate no UV. If you don't use C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=100 rich black color we can't print spot UV on your cards.

Files to submit: 2 by side w/UV CMYK Print File + Spot UV File. Remove all crop marks/bleed otherwise they will be printed.


For better quality we recommend creating mask files in vector based programs such as Illustrator.

Bleed should be 0.0625 "on each side (top, bottom, left and right) and should extend beyond the cut line, this will be trimmed from the product during the final cut phase. Keep all text at least 0.50 "from the edge. The final size of your art, with the margin should be 3.625 "x 2.125". However, at the time of printing and cutting your cards will have a standard size of 2 "x 3.5".
Templates: Our template is used as a guide or reference to show general placement of logos/graphic elements, however, when submitting the artwork, you must submit it without the guidelines, otherwise they would be printed. See image below for example. To get template click on the following link:
